Groom – Paddock Paradise Specialist

Competitive compensation based on expertise

Position Overview

Ensuring the daily well-being of horses in a natural, dynamic environment. You play a key role in our transition to the track system, where active environmental management replaces the static stall routine. In the midst of an operational transition, we are reinforcing our current team to strengthen our methods. We’re looking for a reliable person to help us achieve our new quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Trail management: Ensure the cleanliness, safety and fluidity of the Paddock Paradise trails (picking up droppings, checking soil conditions, inspecting fence lines and ensuring general safety).
  • Housekeeping: Maintain the yard, preparation areas and general stable environment in an impeccably clean and tidy condition.
  • Horse care: Strategic hay distribution (slow-feeding nets), rigorous management of watering points and daily observation of herd health.
  • Ethological observation: Monitoring the health and social behavior of the herd and the physical condition of the horses.
  • Active collaboration: Proactively communicate any changes in behavior or maintenance requirements to management.
  • Transitional maintenance: Efficiently maintain the remaining stalls during our transitional phase.

Profile Sought

  • Thoroughness and Reliability: An honest, punctual person with great attention to detail (seeing what needs to be done without being asked).
  • Endurance and Willpower: Ability to make a sustained physical effort with a positive attitude and an eagerness to learn.
  • Autonomy and team spirit: You understand that the success of the group depends on the reliability of each individual. You are autonomous in your tasks, but supportive in your efforts.
  • Natural approach: A keen interest in equine welfare and herd life (even without prior experience).

The Bel-Air Experience

  • A pioneer in animal welfare: Take an active part in the transition to a natural, innovative form of housing, far removed from the static routine of traditional stalls.
  • Health and fresh air: A healthy work environment in the heart of nature, promoting excellent daily physical fitness.
  • Knowledge development: Deepen your skills in ethological observation and herd management in the wild.
  • Full training included: No experience required in natural boarding (Paddock Paradise). We train you fully in our methods.
  • Career: Natural horsemanship is a booming sector. Working with us opens doors to opportunities for progression within our stable: natural trimming, Paddock Paradise design, equine rehabilitation and consulting.
  • Exceptional setting: work in the fresh air, in contact with free-roaming horses, just 5 minutes from Quebec City Airport.
  • Vision for the future: Join a stable that is redefining industry standards, led by passionate and committed owners.
