Stable Maintenance and Grounds Manager

Starting wage: $30 CAD/hour. Salary review after the first month.

Do you enjoy repairing, building and working outdoors? At Écurie Bel-Air, you will keep our facilities in good condition and help develop our Paddock Paradise, including fences, tracks, water points and resting areas.

A salary review is planned after the first month, based on independence, reliability, the quality of completed work and the ability to work efficiently and safely.

Position overview

Keep the stable buildings, equipment and outdoor areas in good condition while helping create the improvements needed for our Paddock Paradise system. Identify maintenance needs, organize work with the team and carry out lasting, safe repairs and improvements.

Responsibilities

Build, inspect and repair fences, tracks and areas designed for the horses.
Install and maintain water stations, resting areas and other equipment on the property.
Maintain the outdoor riding arena, round pen and travel surfaces.
Carry out routine repairs in the stable and maintain green spaces and forest trails.
Operate the tractor and light machinery for assigned work, including grading and transporting hay.
Maintain tools and equipment, report problems and keep work areas clean.
Work with the team to set priorities and improve the facilities.

Who we’re looking for

Reliable, punctual, independent and attentive to the quality of your work.
Practical experience in maintenance, repair or construction, with strong manual skills.
Comfortable using tools and operating light agricultural machinery.
Able to identify a problem, suggest a solution and recognize when a task needs additional expertise.
Committed to working safely and respecting the horses and people on site.
Agricultural or equestrian experience is an asset. No specific diploma is required.

Working conditions

This role combines indoor and outdoor work throughout the year. It involves walking, handling materials and working on varied terrain, sometimes in cold, hot, rainy or snowy weather. Tasks and priorities are agreed upon with the team according to the stable’s needs.
